The Big Fish Story |
This ain't flipper, NOoo, this isn't some mammal mistakenly called a dolphin either, this is the real thing - Mahi Mahi, Dorado, Dolphinfish, Dolphin, or the scientific name Coryphaena hippurus- "I cant say it either" but whatever you prefer to call it this young lady caught it! Her name is Lauren Tonge and don't let her cute face fool you because she is a serious angler, the kind we honor as our Angler of the Month!
Maybe it was Lady Luck, maybe it was that lucky UNC cap (the current NCAA Champs), or maybe Lauren is just a great angler, but whatever it was she and her Mom Julie caught 5 dolphin total, a bonito, and a wahoo to boot. They caught all this while on a half day charter so its probably a good thing for the rest of the fish they didn't fish all day. A resident of Naples Florida, Lauren and her Mom Julie fished on a charter boat out of Nassau, Bahamas.
