Fishing Report: Sanibel Island Fishing
Perfect weather for fishing around Sanibel Island.
The New Moon in November, and great weather conditions, have the Snook, Redfish, and Trout feeding.
This is that time of year when you can go out fishing and its not too hot, and not too cold.
Low tides have the redfish looking for crabs in our beautiful grass flats.
Strong incoming water is the key to get these fish tailing and moving around the flats for food.
As the water gets higher and following the tide up on the flats, marble bottoms with sunshine are great spots for Snook, and Trout, waiting in ambush for their next meal.
Sandbars near the passes hold all kinds of bait.
Bluefish and Mackerel are on the attack all around these pods of bait.
Reports from offshore say the fishing is great also.
Happy Thanksgiving and See Ya on the water!

Fishing Report: The photo of week shows Kyle Johnston of Ontario with his biggest Kalum River Steelhead landed this October. His friend James Clark of Alberta gets in the shot. The fish measured 39.5 inches and was caught using a Luhr Jensen egg with pink yarn; float-fishing using a 13’6 G Loomis rod with a Stanton centre-pin reel.

Noel Gyger - WEEKLY FISHING REPORT dated November 1 – November 8, 2009
Dear Fishing Friends:
SUMMARY: We’ve had light rain all week but really not enough to do any major damage to the rivers. By fishery regulation, angling for all Salmon is closed. Steelhead is the only target fish now along with the smaller resident and sea-run Cutthroat Trout, Dolly Varden Char, Bull Trout and White Fish in rivers. There is ocean Winter Chinook fishery out of Kitimat and Prince Rupert starting soon. Due to the heavy rain last week the Kalum River is high but still fishable and I have a report of some good catches of Steelhead. I have a report that the Zymoetz (Copper) River is fishing “excellent” for Steelhead using both spin and fly gear. River fishing for Cutthroat Trout in the Kitimat River is only “fair” and depends on the weather. Check out Ron Wakita’s report below. He plans on testing some new Flashers in the Channel for winter Chinook.

Fishing Report: The fall flounder run has kicked into high gear along the inland waters of Northeast Florida. Although the water temperature has only dropped a few degrees flounder are making there yearly October and November migration. Last week, our fishing club, Florida Lure Anglers held a catch and release tournament. The format for the event was 5 flounder per boat, lures only. Catching a couple flounder on artificial lures can be challenging, but landing a 5 fish limit can seem unlikely. When the dust finally cleared, 20 boats out of 60 weighed five flounder, and a total of 145 flatties were released. That’s pretty impressive.
Right now the fish are not stacked up as they normally would be along deepwater riprap structures and docks along the Mayport section of the St Johns River. The better numbers and sizes of flounder are being reported in depths less than 8 feet along shallow mudflats, creek mouths and pockets along and off of the river and Intracoastal Waterway. One of the nice things about targeting flounder is that you don’t need an assortment of lures. Top flounder lures are spinner baits, buck tail jigs and 1/16th oz to ½ oz jigs with tube lures, or gulp curly tail grubs. Flounder lay on the bottom waiting to ambush a passing mullet or minnow, so constant contact with the bottom is obviously a must. Spinner baits have become one of the “go to” lures with anglers in the last few years. The blades flash and vibration created by the lure trigger reaction strikes

Fishing Report: Gulf Shores fishing for big bull redfish is on and should continue all fall and winter. These big bull redfish are weighing from 18 pounds to well over 30 pounds. Hang into a big bull redfish on light spinning tackle and hang on. This is Gulf Shores fall and winter fishing at its best. How about some bonus king mackerel and Spanish mackerel? Fighting a 20 plus pound jack crevalle? Talking about sportfishing. It just doesn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t get much better than this. We are still bottomfishing but this nearshore Gulf Shores fishing for bull redfish in the fall and winter is just awesome. Come join us on the Getaway.

Fishing Report: The water temps have dropped 18 degrees in the past 9 days. This morning I was seeing 69.1 at daylight, and 72 degrees at 11:00 am which is much better than the 86 to 88 degree water a week ago. These lower temps will get the river fish biting and the shad finally moving. I had the pleasure of fishing with young Kade, his Mom Deb, and their friend Bob this morning. The fish were trying to bite but still seem to want to bang the shiners around more then eat them. This was Kades first bass fishing trip and he took advantage of every bite catching 3 nice bass between 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 pounds. If we can keep some stable weather around and not get crazy hot again, we will see a big change in the fishing the next couple weeks. Free lining wild shiners on main river shellbeds was the ticket for us today. The St Johns River and Lake Monroe are only minutes from Orlando, Disney World and Daytona Beach.

Sarasota Florida Fishing Report
By Capt. Bob Smith
Finally some cooler weather is coming our way! As we see the Gulf water temperature drop, we should see the fishing improve. When the water temperature is in the low seventies, I think that is the best for all around fishing. For now, we have some seatrout, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, Jacks, ladyfish, and an occasional flounder in the shallow water on the Middle Ground grass flats. Live pilchards, shrimp and the DOA artificial 3” shrimp are some of the baits that have been working well.
The best methods of fishing the grass have been free-line or popping cork and drifting or anchoring or a little of both. I like the Eagle Claw 202, Size 4/0, Gold Aberdeen hook for fishing with live bait on the flats. About 3 or 4 feet of 30 pound test clear mono leader on 10 to 12 pound test line and you have a very good grass-flats rig. Of course ultra-light and fly also will work well, but you may need to upgrade your skill level.
We have had some slow days fishing lately, but on the whole, the summer was good inshore and offshore. More than I can say for the economy.
We should see the King mackerel start offshore this month and the pompano and blue action should pickup on the bay. Things start to happen when the weather starts to change.
Enjoy & Protect

Fishing Report: Pensacola Fishing Report October 6th
Fish on! I’ve heard these two words from many clients the past few trips and I never get tired of hearing them. The Spanish mackerel bite has been very good and should continue to stay this way for the next 6 weeks. Most of the Spanish are being caught in the middle of the bay; they are crashing large bait pods of blood minnows and glass minnows.
We are also catching some in the pass and along the beaches. When cruising the beaches, I’ve seen a few big schools of the big reds, and we’ve even hooked a few, but it give it a few more weeks and it will be game on with these tackle busters. Along with the awesome Spanish bite, we managed to hook a few large kings in the bay by tossing fresh dead cigar minnows into the schools of crazed hungry Spanish. On a few of my last trips we saw some big kings sky in the middle of the schools, and what a spectacular sight that is to witness. As the Spanish make their way back south, the big bull redfish will start to show up, and then I’ll be battling some big bronze bruisers every chance I get.
Fall red fishing is my favorite type of fishing by far.
I have only been on the flats a few times this week, and the specks are still around. It won’t be long and they will start to make their way back up near Blackwater Bay and Escambia Bay near the mouth of the rivers on each of these bay systems. Slot red fishing has been pretty good up in Escambia bay and

Fishing Report: Although season closures for two different species of fish have cut the options for the captains of the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association, some other fish are around in good numbers to pick up the slack.
Both the Little Egg and Garden State South Reefs are holding good populations of porgies, blackfish, and triggerfish for the boats fishing the bottom. Although the daily limit on the blackfish remains at one, the size of the fish makes them an attractive target.
Closer to shore, the captains have been able to locate some large schools of weakfish. Most of these fish can be found looking for marks on the bottom, while some larger weakies can be found feeding on schools of bunker. Most of the weakfish are small, but 13-15 inch fish can be caught with some patience. Metal jigs with teasers seem to be working the best on these weaks.
Early this week the weakfish were located from Ship Bottom to Holgate with some especially big concentrations off the red water tower in Beach Haven.
Not all of those marks are weakfish, however, as there are still some scattered schools of croakers. When these fish are located, hooks baited with clam and fished right on the bottom are the most effective.
There are schools of birds around close to the beach also, usually feeding on the scraps of bait schools after encounters with small bluefish.
The cooler temperatures have many anglers thinking striped bass, but they have not yet arrived in

Cabo Fish Report
Sept. 14-20, 2009
WEATHER: We started this week with partly cloudy skies, had partly cloudy skies during the middle of the week and ended the week with partly cloudy skies. Tropical Storm Marty was well off to the west of us at the beginning of the week and remained stalled in the same area for several days until degrading and falling apart. Marty brought us just a sprinkle of rain. At the end of the week an un-named storm came up quickly from the south bringing more clouds and we received a bit of rain from these on Saturday night, enough to leave small pools of water on the sidewalks in the early morning. Our daytime highs were in the mid to high 90’s while the nighttime lows were in the mid 80’s.
WATER: Tropical Storm Marty brought the swells up early in the week, most of them at 6-7 feet but spaced well apart. With no wind on top of them it was very nice water. At the end of the week the Port Captain closed the port to all vessels Saturday afternoon and to small vessels (Pangas) Sunday morning due to the large swells brought by the un-named storm. Again, there was no wind on top of these swells so conditions were still good. At the end of the week the water temperatures on

Fishing Report: The Big St Johns River Bass are schooling and the fall shad hatch is here.
Nothing much has changed over the past week. The Bass are schooling
and my clients have been catching a BUNCH of nice fish.
The action is so fast it\\\'s hard to take time out for pictures when we are watching
3 to 8 pound fish blasting shad three foot about the water line.
I did a trip this morning with my good client Bill S and his son William
these fish were so violent when hitting a Wild Shiner they were hard to hook
and many times KNOCKED the shiner off the hook when they hit.
Nothing like seeing a bass knock a shiner 3 ft out of the water on the strike.
Between shiner bites there were some nice fish caught by JR on a C Rig.
If you are looking for the best FALL bass fishing Florida has to offer the
St Johns River is the place to be.the next two months.
I still have plenty of days open for this great action that will take place over the
next two months. Please take a look at my 2009 Trophy Page and see what\\\'s
in store for you when you book a trip with Bass Challenger Guide Service
