Fishing Report: We just wound up our Summer season of Blue Marlin fishing in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. The boat is now back at our homebase in Stuart, FL. and we will sailfish from here until we head to Freeport/Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island in December. Marlin fishing was great in July and August, we raised 20 fish, had 16 hook-ups and released 9 at the boat. Largfest fish was 550 to 600 and average size was 350.
We look forward to the fantastic Wahoo fishing from Freeport/Lucaya over the winter. We'll be docked at the Grand Bahama Yacht Club in Port Lucaya, Grand Bahama. If you are planning a fishing trip anywhere this winter then yoiu owe it to yourself to check out Grand Bahama, a first rate place, with a wonderful hotel variety, lots of restaurants and shopping and good air connections plus good value for money.

Fishing Report: Well good afternoon all.
Very good fishing was had today, our 25 anglers. The morning started of at the rocks for some yellow tail action and they didn't disappoint it’s seem they showed up in force but for our efforts we only managed to hook and land 4 the sea lions are terrible. So we left the rocks in search of other fish and found some calico bass that wanted to bite a little bit after that we went back in to the sea lion den and found three more yellows that wanted to bite the hooks.
We left there after about a hour and went south a little ways and my the yellow wanted to put on a show and some of them showed off to much and got hooked and we landed 14 more to end the day so the counts for today’s fishing as follows:
25 anglers 21 yellow tail up to 18 pounds 54 bonito 24 San bass and 10 calico bass 3.
Over all the fishing is really great the weather has been awesome the past two days and the weather man predicts a beautiful weekend. Remember the number 619-222-1144 make your reservation come on down and lets keep this bite going.
Until tomorrow have a great fish day.

Fishing Report: Bonefishing is the best you will ever have it in Lowe Sound Andros-Bahamas.Where else you can while having your morning cup off coffee, cast your fishing line for bonefish, just fiftteen yards out from shore.
Take my word for it,the settlement of Lowe Sound is one of the best places to catch binefish in the entire Bahamas.

Fishing Report: Average Water Temp – 27.0
Average Weather - excellent for gamefishing, calm, light overcast, just the occasional breezy day.
Water Clarity – Variable inshore after tropical rain, good offshore
It has been an excellent spring for us with just about everything on the species list available to anglers. The wahoo and sailfish packs have thinned but the first of the Christmas Yellowfin schools are now moving in.
With the windy winter weather behind us now, the hot tropical calm is moving onto Fiji waters, ideal conditions for the GT popper casting and deepwater jigging fans. Summer’s almost here with glassy seas and barely noticable swell, just enough to keep the barrier reef breakers visible.
All being well, the current excellent popper conditions should last right through to April. With such calm conditions, its easy to spot the fusilier shoals being harrassed by GTs, bluefin trevally and narrow barred mackerel. The calm also makes it easy to work jigs down to 120m with little or no drift.
This summer we will be working the Kadavu seamount over with larger 400g droppers for dogtooth, amberjack and a whole host of wild and wacky deepwater species. At 150m its a deep drop but easy enought in the summertime.
Trolling small baits is still producing wahoo, sails, mackerel and mahi mahi whilst switching to big baits close in to the barrier reef is producing good yellowfin to 100lbs and black

Fishing Report: As far as my trip goes, it was everything I could have hoped for. Everything was absolutely fantastic. From the travel arrangements, to the personal attention and detail, to the lodging both in Havana and Gerona, to the fishing. Everything was superb. The week I fished the weather was very, very poor. Nevertheless, despite this, the fishing for both baby and giant tarpon was spectacular. I landed at least 3 tarpon during the week over 100 lbs. I also hooked large tarpon each and every day of my trip. One of my best days was hooking/jumping 9 large tarpon and landing 3. Considering the weather and considering that it was supposedly the off season for large tarpon, I was very happy.
There were only a few minor negatives regarding the trip. One, I forgot my digital camera at home. As a result, I have absolutely no photos of my entire trip. At one point, one of the guides took me a picture I with a smaller 70 lb. fish with his cellular phone. Maybe that turned out. If it did, I would sure appreciate if you could check and maybe forward me a copy of that picture.
I definitely look forward to getting back to Gerona and fishing with you sooner as opposed to later. I already have friends who are extremely excited about my trip and are attempting to talk me into going with them for the upcoming high season this year. Do you have any openings in May/June? Let me know. Thanks again to you and everyone at Avalon for making my trip such a

Fishing Report: I've returned successful from PR. My trip wasn't as successful as the report that i read that someone else has posted but Capt. Rosario is Class. I fished one day with Capt. Pochy Rosario and I landed my first Tarpon . We saw tons of tarpon and one monster barracuda! I had four eats and landed two, one of around 80lbs and a baby tarpon. One of the fish I have to admit I trout set on after he ate it stupid, stupid, stupid. After all I have been a trout guide for 15 years.
I have to agree with one of the replies to my first thread to not fish San Juan. I know some people have had success there but after fishing in Cabo Rojo in crystal clear water as apposed to the murky lagoons of San Juan i'll take Boqueron any day. I didn't get a chance to get to culebra or vieques though i was able to catch some barracuda in some spots on the north shore in vega baja.
Well for now I'll be here in Utah the BWO's are popping like crazy here so the fishing is going off. My next salt adventure will be on Cape Cod for two weeks in June. I can hardly sleep, stripers and now Tarpon have taken over my brain.
On a seperate side note I have had a lot of experience fishing and guiding in Patagonia if any one ever needs info, I was there traveling for three weeks this past winter.
Cheers everyone thanks for the info all
Sincerely,
Erik Hufnagle

Fishing Report: The reason why I returned to Mike's Marina is that I really get to enjoy myself. I don't have to worry about anything. I don't have to worry about getting to my hotel from the airport. The hotel accomodations are really nice and the people are friendly. The location is pretty. I had fun hanging out at the bar where I met new people.
The fishing was a blast. Besides the fishing drinks and snacks were provided. As I said, I didn't have to worry about anything. All I had to do was relax and have a great time.
And Mike is a really great guy!

Fishing Report: I wanted to send a note about my great experience fishing with Mike in Punta Cana. I had a great time and was very impressed with the all of the services that Mike provided. Mike took care of every little detail from picking up and dropping off at the airport, letting me use his computer for emailing at his office, picking me up and dropping me off for fishing, taking great pictures and emailing them too me after the trip, and making himself available to make my experience as enjoyable as possible. The fishing was great also! I had a blast fishing with Mike, Captain Manuel, and mate Catch. They were all friendly, accommodating, very knowledgeable, and professional. I think they were more excited than me (which I didn't think was possible), when I caught my first ever marlin. I can't wait to come back!

Fishing Report: My son and I recently took a trip along with his friend and his father to punta cana specifically to charter a boat for a fishing trip. After reviewing numerous charter options I chose Mike from Mike's Marina to service us for three days of fishing for white and blue marlin. Mike assured me that he would take care of transportation to and from airport/hotel and to the charter boat.
From the moment we arrived off the plane Mike and his driver Richard were there awaiting our arrival. Without hesitation we loaded our bags and were off on a safe ride to our resort. Not once were we dissapointed with the transportation, his drivers were always on time from the beginning to the end of our trip in Punta Cana.
We charted one of Mike's 42 foot boats for three days with the same captain and first mate throughout. Like all of Mike's workers they were very friendly and accomodating, speaking English to us and making sure that we were comfortable. Within three beautiful days on Mike's boat we caught Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Mahi Mahi.
All four of us were totally satisfied with Mike's service. We are now planning another trip to Punta Cana to again fish with Mike's Marina in a Blue Marlin Fishing Tournement in August. I would recommend Mike's Marina to anyone looking to go fishing in Punta Cana. Whether you are looking to take just a days trip out on one of the boats or planning your trip around fishing, Mike's Marina is your best bet.

Fishing Report: Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know what a great time we had on our full day charter on Mike's boat "Intrepido".
I fish quite extensively from New Jersey (USA) to Maine. Recently I had a charter in Hawaii. Our 5/20/07 trip with Mike's guys was by far the most enjoyable day on the water I've ever had! The fishing was great, the crew was great, we even had a bonus watching several whales off and on! The four of us caught 15 nice Dorado, a Wahoo, and had a Blue Marlin check out our spread but he wouldn't eat.
We plan on visiting the Dominican again in 2009, and I can't wait to book a day with Mike!
