Fishing Report:   As we enter the 2010 Sportfishing Season in Quepos and throughout Costa Rica we are really excited as we are off to a good start with some great reports. November is the beginning of our high season here in Quepos, we have already seen the promising reports from our boats on the fishing season. The boats are ready to go out and fulfill what anglers here in Quepos seek, the catch of a lifetime. Clients Greg Hiser and some colleagues fished and caught 2 Dorado the early part of November and headed out again 2 days later towards Los Suenos where the bite has been real nice this past week where they ended up with a couple of sails and a few more dorado

Joe Reid fished on Wednesday the 11th a bit further North and had a stellar day with a 350 lb. Blue Marlin, 3 Sailfish, 3 Dorado and 8 40 lb. Yellow fin Tuna, following Henry Cannon who fished on the 10th of November and finished his day with a Marlin, 3 Sailfish and 3 Dorado. The husband and wife team had a nice workout. Their first day out fishing with just a Dorado so they got rewarded for their patience. Justin Blum and Stokely Holder fished on October 31 and finished a day up nicely with a couple of Sails and a 2 Dorado as well.

Fishing Report:   Goooooooooooooood fishing Costa Rica!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we are starting Nov. Lets head down to the beautifull Los Sueños Marina and see whats up ..... or down? Capt Waltons report from Sunny One goes like this...............

1-11-09 We find Skip Jamison aboard, they return after a great day with 1 Sail bite 1Marlin tagged and 16 Tunas Holy Wasabi!!!!!!!!

2-11-09 Mr. Don Ross steams out on Sunny and docks after 4 Sails and 2 Dinner Dorado

3-11-09 Skip Jamison joins Sunny One again and is not disappointed docking with 2 Dorados and 2 nice Tunas...........

Thats the start of Nov. Fishing Report:   Gooooooooooooooood fishing Costa Rica!!!!!!!!!!!! Heading down to the Los Sueños Marina to see whats up in the world of Sportfishing for Sept.

these next few months start to slow down a touch as there is some rain coming down and a lot of yachts are dry docking to get ship shape for the coming high season. But there are still plenty available And the Sportfishing can be suprisingly good Check these stats out.

9-13-Mr. John Davenport boards Sunny One and returns after hooking up 12 Sails

9-13 Next up we find Arley McMillion who lives up to his name and has a million dollar day!!!! Docking after spotting 20 Sails and boarding 12 then hooking up with a nice Marlin later a Dinner Dorado and lastly 1 Rooster. Wow what a great day!!!!!!!!!!!

That just goes to show the Sportfishing in Costa Rica can be Smokin at any time of year. Well we are all here waiting,where are you?????

Fishing Report:   Gooooooooooooood fishing Costa Rica!!!!!!!!!!

Well as the sun sets on our hero Salty, we find ourselves at the Los Sueños Marina home of some of the best sportfishing in the world.

Our report goes as follows;

7-21-09 With the Lana Johnson group aboard Sunny One heads out and returns with 2 Dorados 2 Red Snappers and a fine Rooster fish

7-23-09 The Johnsons join Sunny for another day of action on the Briny deep and steam in having hooked up 1 Dinner Dorado 4 Yellow Fin Tuna 4 Urels and 1 Rooster, a good day indeed.!!!!!!!

7-27-09 Today we have Mr. Jan Maizler aboard and after a fine day they dock with 2 Bonitas 2 Spanish Mackerels and 11 Urels along with a Rooster fish

7-27-09 Marcusula reports to us after having landed 3 Urels and 1 Rooster fish!!!!!

7-29-09 Sail Call steams out early and returns having hooked up 1 Dorado and 4 nice Rooster fish
Dream II; Heads back to the Marina having released 2 Sails, meanwhile back at the ranch, or in this case the yacht Sunny One reports 1 sail 1 Yellow fin Tuna and 1 Rooster fish. Whos Your Daddy; Docks after a super day showing 4 Yellow Fin Tuna 6 Wahoo and 3 Rainbow Runners.

7-30-09 Well one of our favorite groups who return every year The infamous Squire Group board Sunny and return having hooked up 2 Sailfish and a Dorado.

7-31-09 The group had so much fun they are heading out again

Fishing Report:   The winter season started with a bang as big packs of wahoo flooded in. Marauding groups of up to 50 fish were seen on all the usual Kadavu Island haunts and every pack contained some fish close to the magical 100lbs mark.

The sailfish also started to show nice and early, still solitary but destined to form up into packs.

Anglers aboard Bite Me recently took several light tackle records including the M-04 Fiji Sailfish Record and the M-04 Wahoo IGFA World Record.
The Yellowfin are however, late ! Only now, at the beginning of August are the first schools moving in. No real size to them yet with most schools around the 20lb (perfect marlin bait) size and the occasional fish to 50lbs. Fellow charterboat Rogue landed a 150lb yellowfin but the big fish are not yet here in numbers.

An unusual NW current in the past few weeks shut down the wahoo & sail bite to the North of Kadavu but I am pleased to say the cooler water is moving back now and yesterday for example Bite Me raised 2 sailfish packs and got jumped by 2 wahoo packs (which made a very expensive mess of our light tackle sailfish lure spread !)

That warm current did however have some upside. With it came a lot of small Dorado and better yet large numbers of blue marlin. In the recent Denarau Sport & Gamefish Club Tournament, competing boats tallied 19 Blue marlin bites.

Fishing Report:   Hi Everyone,
This is Dan from Panama with a fishing report and photos from this
last week. Needless to say, I don't understand why they call it the
off season. The offshore and inshore fishing was hot. Now, it might
rain some times, which it has only been doing at night, and the
cloud cover really helps with the tropical heat. I do believe
because of our location out on the tip of Punta Burica, we receive
about half the amount of rain they do almost everywhere else. Now
for the report. We had a crew here from Texas for the week of July
20th. 2 boats fishing for 3 days with Captain Oliver and mate Rafa
on the Miss Burica and Captain Victor and mate Matagato ( cat
killer ) on the La Chiricana.

3 Black Marlin hooked. One that broke the double line ( something
new for us ) was around 500lbs. The other was on for about 10
minutes before spitting the hook. The 3rd came up tail wrapped after
a hour long battle and after trying to revive her for another hour,
we had to bring her in. This fish measured out at 350lbs and was
caught by Kyra Hudson. Hated having to bring her back, but the
smoked marlin we prepared was delicious and the staff got to take
home a lot of fresh fish.

So many Dorado that we lost count. Most of them were in the 20 to
40lb. range. The weed lines off the tip of the Point were holding

Fishing Report:   Gooooooooood fishing Costa Rica!!!! Lets head on down to the Los Sueños Marina and check out how Sunny One closed out the month of June.

6-13-Samuel Fleeman boards Sunny and docks with 1 Sail and 4 Spanish Mackerel.

6-14 Mr. Fleeman heads out again to try his luck and hits the JACKPOT steaming in having landed 2 Sails 4 Wahoo and 4 Yellow Fin Tuna nice work!!!!!!!!!!!

6-17 -We find one of our luxury condo owners aboard Sunny and locks up with 6 fighting Wahoo.

6-25 We are joined by Mr. Harshbar returning after hooking up 1 Dinner Dorado 2 Urels and 1 fine Rooster fish.

6-27-Sunny heads out with Jo Jones and steams in having hooked up 12 Urels and 1 Sweet Rooster fish.

Well that takes us out of June and were off looking forward to a good July.

Fishing Report:   Well beins I was on alittle R&R for a spell,Lets check Saltys( While you were out sluming) messages. Jim called,Patty called, Bob called, and oh oh by the looks of that browm steamy pile on the floor.............. nature called!!!!!!!!

5-22 Steaming out of the dock with Joseph Hackey aboard and returns having landed 2 Sails and a nice Marlin

5-23 Next to depart out of Los Sueños beautiful Marina we have an owner on board. Mr. Mitch Friedman one of the proud owners of the impressive Villas known as CASA OASIS They dock with 4 Sails and 1 Marlin.

5-25 Boarding Sunny next to fish the abundant waters of the Central Pacific Coast we have Skip Jemison, Who has a fine day landing 1 Sail and 5 Dinner Dorado

5-26 Turns out to be a special day for the Marla Rowan group, tagging up with a 500lb Monster Marlin Nice job!!!!!!!!!!!

5-30 We close out the month of May with Costa Rican Eduardo Calvo on board Sunny One. They dock with a fine catch of 19 small but tasty Dorado and one fine Rooster fish.

Fishing Report:   Lets take a scroll down to the beautiful Los Suenos Marina where we will find Sunny One docked and see what Capy. Walton and Super mate Miguel have to say about the Sportfishing in Costa Ricas Central Pacific Coastal Blue waters. And we start with

5-12-09 Mr, George Beckwell heading out and returning with a nice Sail and 3 Urels.

5-13-09 We find Mrs. Megan Hunt returning from an Inshore excursion having hooked up 2 Super nice Rooster fish!!!!

5-15-09 Last but not least Sunny One is boarded by the Saborios who head out for half day of fishing and low and behold return having hooked up and released 4 Sails. A great half day!!!!!!!!!! Later they return to relax in their Luxury Villa with a ton of photos and enough memories to last them until they return next. year. Thanks to all you anglers and hope to see you aboard Sunny One soon

Fishing Report:   The month of May brought several clients interested in inshore fishing along with flyfishermen (and women) and even overnight anglers.

We started the month with an overnight trip to the Furuno Bank. 2 anglers fished to their hearts content landing 6 sailfish, 4 snapper, 4 amberjack, and a very large grouper.

Mother\\\'s day weekend the lady anglers fishing with husbands and sons caught two sailfish, one pompano,two amberjack, and snapper.

Guests of Manuel Antonio\\\'s Bali House reported their best day of fishing ever! The guys phoned the chef before even returning to the house. The cooked up Snapper and Mahi Mahi, ate Tuna sashimi and shared photos and stories of epic battles about the 2 sailfish they landed.

Mid May inshore anglers were rewarded with multiple roosterfish and snapper on half-day (morning trips). The fly fishermen were able to land 2 roosterfish fishing a full day inshore.

To close out the month of May, Memorial Weekend the Estrella de Mar fished inshore one day and offshore the next, entertaining our visitors from Texas.

Fishing inshore on Saturday we did not find the elusive Roosterfish, but we were able to land 2 nice mackerel and a snapper during our half day trip. The water was a bit rough by Quepos standards and the ladies were feeling a little queasy.

Sunday Captain Jesus took our family out for some offshore fishing. Early in the morning,

Fishing Report:   We had four groups fishing this month. Most days where spent fishing inshore but still we caught 6 Black Marlin. So still very good action with Marlin. Good action with Rooster fish, Cubera Snapper, Mullet Snapper, Sailfish - was not as good with Yellowfin tuna. Usually this time of year is the best for Yellowfin tuna - including the 200lb. fish. They where around but where spotty - not like they should be. Water quality is very good - so are the temps, so all looks good heading into May. Capt. Lee

Mark and i just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful time fishing and the company while we were at Panama Big Game Fishing. You guys were the best at everything..The food was spectacular and the fishing too. I don't know of anywhere else you can have a Rooster and 2 Black Marlins hooked by noon ( 3 if you count the bigger one that threw the hook). The crew was tireless in making sure we caught that elusive Rooster fish my husband was after and if it weren't for their knowledge, persistence and hard work I would have never landed my 1st bill fish, a 300# plus Black Marlin. I just cant say enough about your lodge and all the staff. You also were an absolute pleasure to meet. We cant wait to get back over and see y'all again. Tell all the guys Howdy from Texas and I miss y'alls sweet smiles, awesome food, fantastic fishing and the weather ain't bad either. I hope you liked the pics, I know video would have been cool but you know us
