Fishing Report: Well another weekend has come and gone and what a weekend. Started off working for another captain and had a no dru, catch in the am trip. We were able to produce sand sharks and skates and the folks were happy to bend the rod.
The afternoon trip was a little different, Had a bunch from the Lancaster area for a late afternoon/evening trip.
We started off catching skates and sharks and the thought of sitting there for 5 more hours with only that was not good.
All of a sudden the fire drill had started, the first rod goes off and it was the far line and it goes one way and then the short line goes the other, boy let me tell you when you raise your voice and let them know we have 2 hooked people move.
The 2nd fish hooked came in first after asbout 20 minutes it was the smaller of the two.
Tim Nixon of Gap landed this 63 lb. fish, his first drum fish.
Well Richard Mease of Holtwood was still fighting his fish, his fish at one point just about spooled him and we were able to persuade the fish to come back before it took all the line. After the first fish was landed it took about 5-10 more minutes to land the second fish.
Richards fish weighed in at 79 lbs. and this also was his first drum.
That was it for the night but the fun kept going till every one headed back home.
On Sunday I fished with the other captain again and started off for drum but ended the day flounder fishing.
We were

Fishing Report: This past weekend May 16, 2009 I took a charter up the bay to the coral beds to try for some drum fish. We headed up the bay and search the beds for some signs of life, I finally found some and dropped anchore. We settled in and we heard the drum booming under the boat .
We got the lines in the water and the action started one after the other, SAND SHARKS, they bit good all day long. About a hour before the tide change we finally hooked in to a drum, after about 15 minutes we landed a 40 lb. fish and then right after that a 15lb fish and it was over. The sharks came back to life and sharks the rest of the day.
The day was great, nice weather, great bunch of guys and fish to go home with. I also have been hearing of reports of flounder catches increasing and the sea basiing picking up. If anyone is interested in any information on fishing the Delaware Bay or the Atlantic Ocean please contact me for information at www.missrileechartersdelbay.com
Till next week
Thanks for the visit

Fishing Report: Sorry about not posting a report any earlier, but I have been out of town at a tackle show in South Carolina and have been unable to post any reports while I have been gone.
The Judy V. did get out the week-end Jan3rd & 4th. Saturday they averaged 3-4 fish per person, most fish were 2-4lbs. The biggest one weighed in at 7lbs.
The tog bite continued on Sunday with 2-3 fish per person but these fish were on the bigger side with most weighing between 3-5lbs. The largest of the day was 6.8lbs.
We haven't been fishing since that week-end because the wind kept us in last week-end and the cold has kept us in this week-end. Sunday could be a go, but not sure at this point in time. Please give us a call to find out if the weather has straightened up enough.
But we do hope that the weather will be more cooperative next week-end. We will continue to keep the week-end schedule going every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.. If you are interested in going please give us a call at 302-226-2214.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Fishing Report: Hope everyone had a great Christmas and are ready to get back out there and go fishing. The fishing in the inlet has been slow but there is still life out there. The stripers are few and far between, with only 1 or 2 keepers being reported now and then. They are mostly being caught on the incoming tide with long line flies or bucktails. There are few tog being caught due to the lack of people out there fishing.
The surf has been slow also with only a few stripers and horn dog sharks showing up. When the stripers show up they have been caught using mullet or a yellow school bus poppers.
Capt John Nedelka, on the Karen Sue out of Indian River Marina, had a nice day on a recent charter. His group from MD wound up with a nice catch with the largest weighing in at 11.9lb, 25” length and 20” girth. Capt John reported that all the tog were caught using green crabs and that they fishing around site 10.
The head boat Judy V. out of Indian River Marina, DE went out on Saturday (12/27) tog fishing. They started the day about 5 miles from the beach and wound up the day about 8 miles off the beach. They had a steady pick all day with a lot of missed fish, some throw backs. They averaged between 2-4 keepers per person. All were weighing about 4lbs. The pool fish winner weighed in 4.8lbs.
They were using green crabs and catching the best using a flourocarbon tog rig with a size 2/0 Gamakatsu octopus hook.

Fishing Report: Delaware Bay fishing was good this past week with clean water and good flounder action up and down the lower portion of the bay. Top bait was squid and minnow combo in 30 - 50 feet of water.A little nor-easter has settled in for a couple of days so let's hope they are still there when it settles down.Threaser sharks are all over with big ones being caught daily in and around the seabass spots.Hopefully not being over pressured, plus this is not the best eating, only the Mako passes it's entire waste out a hole, all others pass it thru their skin which means it goes thru the meat first, you figure it out.
Let's hope this east blow brings in some nice warm tuna water, last year June 30th I caught my first Tuna's trolling the 30 line, that's coming soon.
Tight Lines
