Fishing Report: Hey man I'm a native to N. Va. When I do fish in Md. We have a beach house in Calvert Cliffs. But a friend of a good friend of mine said last week that he's been catching DOOR MAT SIZE FLOUNDER an TauTaug right at the Bay Bridge.
He's been catching them regularly and a lot of them! I have 2 small boats but I usually just surf fish when I'm in Calvert. I did really well last year off the beach. Caught a BUNCH of Red Fish which has been a rare thing down there over that years. But I'm chomping at the bit for the Spawning Stripers to come in. I caught a 50 lb. Rock last year off a charter.
Good luck to you.

Fishing Report: Today was our 14th trip of the 2006 Summer/Fall campaign and our 17th trip out of the wharf at Drury’s Marina. It was also our 12th day of light tackle chumming for the year. We will be light tackle fishing out of this wharf through June 12th. We’ll be back to our home port in Deale starting June 13th light tackle fishing for a real long Summer and early Fall run from the wharf at the “Happy Harbor”.
Today, we welcomed Mr. Mark Wessell and friends for a total of 6 anglers. We did a morning chumming trip. T.J. Reiber of NOVA served as 1st Mate. We also welcomed a new young trainee mate - Travis - who did well on his second day.
We used light spinning tackle rigged with standard chumming rigs. We used cut Bunker for hook bait. We fished at The Triangle. It was a good bite as we caught our limit of Striped Bass (“Rockfish”) from 18” - 28.75”. We also released several undersized Rockfish to fight another day. It’s really nice to see some big Rockfish hanging around for some great light tackle action!
Then we went bottom fishing in the Hooper Straits. We used light spinning tackle rigged with standard bottom rigs. We used bloodworms, squid, and shrimp for hook bait. We caught 32 Atlantic Croakers and 2 Norfolk Spot.

We are now fishing out of Drury’s Marina in Ridge, MD. Today, we welcomed Mr. Johnny Krudup, his brother David, “Pops” Krudup, family and friends for a total of 7 anglers. T.J. Reiber served as 1st Mate today (on right in group picture below).
We did a chumming and trolling combo trip. We chummed with light spinning tackle. We rigged up with standard chumming rigs and used cut Bunker for hook bait. We caught 14 portly Striped Bass (“Rockfish”) (our limit) ranging from 18” up to a 21” plus our boat fish. We also released a few undersized Rockfish. We didn’t catch any trolling.
The weather was beautiful (for a change) with light winds. Hopefully, the trolling will improve with the cooler weather

We are now fishing out of Drury's Marina in Ridge, MD. Today, we welcomed Mo Goldfarb and friends from Temple Hills, MD for a total of 9 anglers. T.J. Reiber served as 1st Mate today (in rear group picture below).
We chummed with light spinning tackle. We rigged up with standard chumming rigs and used cut Bunker for hook bait. We caught 18 corpulent Striped Bass ("Rockfish") (our limit) ranging from 18" - 22.5" plus our boat fish at this location. We also released a few undersized Rockfish.
We then tried a few hours of trolling to see if we could catch a big one, but only caught 3 small ones (released). There aren't a lot of big ones yet as the water is still warm (59 degrees in Bay).

Today, we welcomed The Horn family and friends for a total of 6 anglers. T.J. Reiber served as 1st Mate today (in rear in group shot). We chummed with light spinning tackle at “The Gooses”. We rigged up with standard chumming rigs and used
cut Bunker and Razor Clams for hook bait. We caught 12 portly Striped Bass (Rockfish) ranging from 18” – 21” plus our boat fish (our limit) at this location. We also released quite a few undersized Rockfish.
Then we made three bottom fishing drifts at the Holland Point Bar on the way home. We used light spinning tackle rigged with standard bottom rigs and Bloodworms for hook bait. It was a good bite as we filled 1.25 blue and white coolers with mostly nice White Perch and about a dozen Jumbo Norfolk “Slab” Spot.
