Fishing Report:   The Best Biloxi, Mississippi Charter fishing boat Whipasnapa lands another banner fishing year!!!! We started business in 2002 so getting about 13 good charter years under our belt.. Thought I was a pretty good fishermen some 15 yrs ago but it amazes me the things I’ve learned the last 12 years..& still learning.. It’s always a very uplifting rewarding challenge to take people who only have dreams & very limited fishing experience of catching BIG fish & actually taking them out & consistently put quality fishing trips together on a daily bases.. But we really fish here…We’re not “trolling” your actually fishing… Really have to cast, put bait on, set the hook, tighten the drags, pull up reel down.. All that stuff, feel what you fishing with.. Good ol actual fishing..The smiles and high fives and thank you’s make it the best….I still get excited the night before when out rigging weapons and baiting up for the following mornings fishing adventure.
The fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is second to none as far as I know!!;) When you combine a great fisheries such as the Gulf of Mexico & Mississippi sound w/ a fish magnet like Whipasnapa & a born & raised ole back bay captain the fish box has a tendency to runneth over, a lot!!!
Ok all bs aside!!’:) Don’t guess I’ve reported since at least the beginning of the 2015 red snapper season..Just been way too busy.. We had some really great catches of red snapper w/a limit of nice red snapper each trip. Most averaging 12-15 lb

Fishing Report:   Spring has finally arrived, let\'s go fishing!!! 3-16-2014

The Biloxi,Mississippi fishing charter boat Whipasnapa, is finally back in the captain\'s seat!!! Oh! how good it feels too... What a winter, huh??? Not many people had boating on their mind the last few months, that\'s for sure!! But with that being said I think it\'s over. The 1st day of spring is this week, spring breakers are amongst us. It\'s hammer time!!! Usually, by now we are in full swing, but just now getting warmed up this year!! Time to get back to waylaying\'m, stanking the grease!!!
Been pretty busy last few weeks getting the arsenal all cleaned up, greased and ready to go. Starting to pick up few trips as some spurts of sunshine an warm weather has teased us a lil lately. For the most part, the fishing has been pretty good. We did get a big flush of fresh water the last part of February that made a few trips a lil slow!! Just seems slow in winter any ways cause you don\'t have all the bait fish and stuff constantly biting on your bait. When you feel something chomping this time of year it\'s generally something worth a good hook set. Croakers, pinfish and hardheads just not around till the water temps gets back up close to 70 degrees!! Kinda of limited sometimes what you can do when the winds are blowing a Gail and the bay has been flushed out!!! Had 4 off shores on the books and have yet to get out there!! I know, I know we usually have one those biggens in

Fishing Report:   Fishing Red Snapper in October!!!! 08-11-13

That\'s right! The Whipasnapa Charter boat is awaiting another round of the elusive Gulf of Mexico Red Snapper!!!! An boy that October fishing gets right you know!!!
As the cobia migrate back through on their return trip home, the October water temps cool down and that brutal summer sun is gone. Really seems to turn on a good feed for all the fish. Grouper, snapper, amberjack, kings offshore with reds, blacks, sheep\'s an trout really turning on inshore. Some of my most memorable meat in the box adventures have been in October. From my experience if we can get ole mother nature to do her part we gone way lay\'m!!!! That\'s right be like the old days putting 4 to 500 lbs of fish in the Box!!!(of course offshore) especially if they leave the aj season open!!! I know a short time ago when the snapper season run through Oct. several times I remember catching 200lb of Red Snapper 200lb of cobia an 200lb of Mangrove Snapper (IN THE BOX)!!! didn\'t fish much for amberjack back then but now add 200lb of amberjack to that, plus a few of the other snapper an some kings plus some grouper (o\'lawd) we might need a bigger boat!! YEAH!!! That BEAUTIFULY SWEET CEO of the whipasnapa franchise has been hinting a lil that its getting about that time!!!!:)
We been mostly inshore fishing 6 hour an 4hr lately..for some pretty good flounder, trout and drum action. The puppy drum and reds have really been

Fishing Report:   Cobia Bar Fishing, May\'s Good!!!! 05-21-2013

The Biloxi, Ms. based charter boat Whipasnapa, has been chumming them bars for sure!!! As most know we like chumming. Especially for the brown fish, aka ling, cobia, and lemon fish.
Since the second week of May each trip has been fortunate enough to boat a nice cobia some up to five. Most 2 or 3 with the biggest being a 57lber. Hard to mention everyone\'s name and where they were from but a big THANK YOU, to all who helped this years bar season to be one of the very best!!! It really does take a large amount of hard work, patience and team work to boat these fish chumming on the bar. With 10 to 12 poles out and couple chum chompers (that have to be stroked consistently) outboard motors and anchors that have to be maneuvered around, once a BIG fish has been Hooked, things can get hairy for sho!!! :)
We were very successful thou of all the fish we hooked we boated everyone of them!!! That in itself is pretty dang good. Way 2 Go Team!! Appx. 30 for 30!!!! Most were caught by sight as they came up to the boat following the impressive chum slick we were putting out. A live ell, croaker, catfish, spot or jig was presented an engulfed by the curious hard fighting great tasting Cobia. They really do check out when hooked, some do a lil tail walk slinging their head around trying to throw the hook, some hit the sinker lines an man when that clicker goes off the anticipation an anxiety of not knowing what

Fishing Report:   From inshore to offshore Fishing is getting right!!!!!!!! 04-02-2013

The Biloxi, Ms Charter boat Whipasnapa, has really enjoyed some fine south Mississippi weather along with some great friends and fishing action this week. WOOOOOHOOOO!!!!!
Got in another rig trip Sat. with calm seas great companionship and absolutely beautiful weather and crystal blue water. As we shut ol Whipasnapa down some 50 miles out there the 1st words out of every bodies mouth was the water is mighty blue captain. After two quick stops to gather up some live hard tails and big blue fish for bait we headed over to 265 area where the action was tremendous. With a 6 man crew of Bud light stock holders that didn\'t have a bet on the biggest or the most fish caught, but on who could consume the most bud light!!! Not sure who won cause as they left that evening it was down to 2 guys an they were still going strong!!! (sure nuff professionals). Anyway, good time was had as we kept 2 guys on the drop shot rigs hitting the lil wench men, white snapper, an several lesser Ajs!! Two on some amberjack action and couple kept usentertained on some large king mackerel and sharks. As ya\'ll know 1 or 2 Amberjacks back to back will surely make you need a beer break. But, so will a couple of big kings an sharks. Of course dropping down an reeling anything in down 270 ft well most diffidently make you need a (BEER BREAK). Seemed to be the most common phrase of the day fir sur (BEER

Fishing Report:   Biloxi Bay Fishing heats up!!! 2-5-2012

The Biloxi, Ms. Whipasnapa Charter fishing season is getting well under way, an heating up nicely. Saturday a lovely couple from Chicago blessed the Whipasnapa with some great company, as we enjoyed a few hrs. on the Back Bay, they seemed to enjoy our mild weather as it was 9 degree back home in Chicago. We managed a pretty good day, kinda slow for the most part. They kept dropping and fishing hard an were rewarded. Several nice battles with some scrappy red fish, couple specks and sheepshead. The couple had flown in, so catch an release was the Game!! Well except for the couple flounder that hit the deck of ol' Whipasnapa an had the honor to get whooped up an bless the table of the Captain!! :)

We were dropping over some the old bridge structure by the new Biloxi Ocean Springs bridge with live shrimp. Just holding the boat over the structure with the motors running, so we could drop straight down. A sinker tied to the bottom an the hook about a foot above it, so as to not hang up, allows the sinker to barely lay on the bottom, that allows the live shrimp to flick around about a ft. above an WALLEYE botalabing!!! Make sure not to drag it or you will surely hang up on this structure.!

Mr. Baker, ol' dirt {peanut} farmer from Georgia, (an a marvelous guy to spend the day with) got it put on him pretty good. I wore him out. I love when he comes cause I can simply out fish him every

Fishing Report:   Let\'s Make 2013 the Fishiest Ever!!!!!! 1-07-2013

Happy New Year\'s fellow WhipaSnapa\'ers, I hope everyone is getting their New Year off to a great start. The Biloxi Ms. Charter boat WhipaSnapa would like to thank everyone for all the great support in 2012. And would like to ask for your support to spread the word so 2013 will be even fishier!!!
We ran 4 or 5 trips around Christmas time that had produced some great light tackle action. Most of the guest were in town just visiting or passing through, and not keeping their fish, so catch and release. Team Missouri had a few hours of rock steady action Thursday. Just about as quick as a bait could get in the strike zone it was engulfed! An a brisk but strong game of tug o war pursued!~!! With angler winning most. Them fish did put up a pretty good match tho!!! Good strong hook set keep good bend in rod and PULL UP REEL DOWN!!!
Friday\'s was also strong, with sheepshead, flounder, reds, couple of specks and puppy drum all participating in the great action. Then on Saturday, man the wind blow in and it was COLD!! we just got whupped!! Fish just would not bite. At least not where we were. We tried to make them bite in some of the out of the wind spots, and even roughed it out in the brutal wind, but with very lil success! :(
Monday\'s couple from Georgia fished hard and still for the most part a lil slow but did manage a pretty good variety of nice fish. Actually, the

Fishing Report:   Nov. and Dec. is still very fishy!! 11-18-2012

Well as the 2012 boating season draws to an end, and we get time to reflect a lil. What a great year we\'ve all enjoyed aboard the Biloxi, Ms. fishing charter boat \"WhipaSnapa\". Thanks to a number of old friends and many new one\'s that boarded the WhipaSnapa for a great day afloat!! Thank You! Thank You!! Thank You!!! : )
November we pretty much have wrapped up the ever so exciting, big water adventures. Man what some great times out there this year!!! A many of those dream catches for sho!! Looking back on some of the pictures you wonder if any fishes are left, but I assure you we left plenty!! Even the Nov., Dec. and Jan. months are very fishy to say the least. If you can get one them blue bird days in between cold fronts. Mangrove, kings, cobia, grouper, amberjacks, Tuna, Wahoo and the snapper are very Catchable these months. They would love a trip back to the Biloxi shores aboard the WhipaSnapa for sho!!!
The last few trips, in late Oct., just ran in close some 15 to 20 miles beyond the Islands where several large kings and some great cobia action took place. Some sharks, bonnita and jacks ripped the drag an brought them (O SHITS) out as we drifted an CHUMMED behind the shrimp boats for sho!!!!.
The last couple combo trips (inshore-offshore), produced several big sharks, bull reds and a few cobia. Sharks, cobia an few Jacks were enjoyed while chumming on the ol Isle Capri bar. A

Fishing Report:   Red Hot Red Snapper action comes to a close!!!!!! 7-23-2012
What a Great 2012 Red Snapper season it has been aboard that darn ol WhipaSnapa charter boat out of Biloxi Ms.. No sure nuff monsters but alot of nice 20\'s an hardly anything under 10. Most all trips had a fine limit except 1 or 2 that the weather didn\'t allow us to go very far. A couple of the last trips we were invaded by the o so lovely SHARKS!!! OMG when them s.o.b\'s school up on a rig or in a particular area, an you make your drop to the bottom, it just might costya a hook, swivel, sinker an all. If you don\'t lose it all, an are fortunate enough to hook one. Especially on bottom, generally they will tangle up with everyone else on the boat !! O what a mess!!!!!!!! But anyway, let\'s move on!! But not South this time, before we had been, just going further south, but the further we went the thicker they got. Lets try about 15 miles to the west this time, that did the trick. NO SHARKS HOLLALOUYA!!! I know some of you like\'m an all, an they do eat pretty good, an they do fight pretty good, but they have a tendency to make me pull my freakin hair out. Especially when I\'m snapper fishing. Sometimes certain bodies of water will just be infested. Just something you have to deal with. Sometimes you can catch one are two snapper before they move in. Then you mightiest well move on..Especially if its those that are big enough to eat your Snapper. We had some 20lb snapper bit off right

Fishing Report:   A Red Hot start to the Gulf of Mexico Red Snapper Season!! 6-11-2012

The Biloxi, Ms. Charter boat Whipasnapa, has really started out the 2012 Snapper season with some red hot Snapper action for sure.. A really nice limit of Red Snapper each trip. Don\'t take long either!! With the smallest fish about 12 to 14lb an the biggest in the lower 20s..22lb biggest so far. Man those 20s can scrap with the best of\'em. When you 1st bow\'em up an they make that drag ripping run to the bottom or rig leg you best be pumping an reeling. If fishing around any structure, any drag is not in your favor. They do know how to get around the structure to freedom. First 3 to 5 pull ups an reel down (PURD) are o so crucial. Don\'t take long to know you got 1 either, ol sow will get some the ol drag every time. Luckily starting to find a few lumps an humps without any structure. Which gives the angler a slight advantage..
Been warming everyone up a bit (so to speak) by stopping an hitting the shrimp boats on the way out. As the shrimpers generally shrimp at night then early morning as they anchor (to sleep), first they must cull through their catch.. That\'s when they throw plenty of that good ol fresh chum out.. (o this Capt. likes fresh chum). Makes for a perfect lil warm up!!! Amazing action on the med. an even the light tackle. Hook you a Bonito or a Mackeral on some light tackle an she fixin 2 sing>>>:) Jacks, shark an Cobia even on the med. wt.

Fishing Report:   Finally a cobia makes its way to my belly! 4-15-2012

Some more beautiful weather along the South Mississippi shores has finally produced a nice keeper cobia for the Biloxi Ms. charter boat Whipasnapa. Big reds, sharks, jacks an piles of spanish and King mackeral, entertained as we anticipated the next cobia to come up the chum slick, or for the screams of the reels to get everyone\'s ol ticker ticking at a very dramatic tick.
Only one problem, 2 of the cobia, happened to show an hit at the same time! That didn\'t work out so good. One eluded our attempt to capture the beast. But luckily (I suppose) it was the smaller of the two. Sure felt good to give out a round of ol high fives thou. Just breaking the ice was a great feeling. Especially since it seems I was getting to be one of the last to catch one. Yeah, trust me these fellows round here, they like to rub it in. Especially; when it comes to the cobia. They all ask me \"You get one yet? You caught any cobia?\" Well we have caught 4, which 3 were just short of making the 33inch mark. Anyway a nice fat 42 lber(has give us some redemption) an did make for some surenuff :)s. O an some happy belly\'s 2.
Another nice 40 come up through the master chum slick about noon. Which the other action was about 7:30, not long after we anchored. So quite some time had passed before the next sighting. Yes, just a sighting, passed just feet from the boat in the slick 4 times. Yet no one could

Fishing Report:   It\'s All about the Reds this week. 4-2-2012
The Biloxi, Ms. charter boat WhipaSnapa (an it\'s lovely guest). Seriously been hammering some huge, hard fighting reds. Just beyond the Mississippi Sound. Out at the beautiful,an very fishy, Horn Island.
You talkin bout a fight, them dang Big ol Bull Reds play one heck of a game of tug of war. PULL UP REEL DOWN!!!!!!:) We\'ve had another large mixture of great folks aboard, Bachelor party\'s, families, our great Air Force crew, an more. Mostly for the 6 hour combo trips, the past couple weeks. We hit the inshore light tackle stuff for an hour are so catching up 30, 40 nice croaker along with a few drum an white trout. Then make a short very relaxing boat ride, especially aboard the roomy WhipaSnapa!!! (It just rides so sweet)!!:) out to one of the Barrier Islands off the Ms. shores to get our chum on! Which the past couple weeks Ol Horn Island has been the secret spot. And well, some string pulling shonuff(w/a few those very descriptive words) slipping out every now an then!!! Pretty good mixture of sharks-(blacktip, spinners, atlantic sharpnose), king mackeral, jack cravelle, etc.... But its been a very consistent catch of huge smile pulling Reds. An a bunch of em! That had the WhipaSnapa\'s great guest scrambling to get the reel that was screaming!!! So could be the one to lock an load. They were at times double and tripled up w/ the big ol reds an :)s!
We were chumming with poggies. Baits
