Boats can tie off on the shelf and fish about 40 to 60 feet down on the bottom. Black Bass: Fair. Captain Pat Bennett reports that he is having best results fishing rock bluff banks near deep water with a Texas rigged 5 inch green pumpkinseed Zoom straight-tailed worm. Use a slow retrieve. Fishing Report: Fished Murrells Inlet on 5-23-09 on falling tide. Caught one flounder at 13 inches on mud minnow. I really wanted to fish the outside of the jetties but the wind made it impossible to do so. The inside of the jetties and the creeks were tough to fish due to the holiday weekend boat traffic.
DNR was out in full force and were targeting drunk boating operators. I was stopped and they didnt ask to see my fish or fishing license. They didnt do a safety inspection either. They looked at my face and determined I wasnt drinking and said Goodbye. THANK YOU DNR! Keep our waters safe.
