Fishing Report: This cool weather has been great, with nighttime temperatures already starting to cool down, the water temp here at Lake Fork is from 82 degrees. Lower water temps mean that the Bass are starting to get more active. This past week the Bass fishing has been good. We have had a good early morning Spinner Bait bite. This time of year I like to throw a 1/4oz Colorado Willow, Nickel and Gold blades, with a Chartreuse and White skirt. In the last few days we have been starting out fishing main lake and secondary points, covering the edge of the grass lines. Best presentation for the Spinner Bait has been fishing it fast, just barely under the surface of the water. Our best day was Monday when the front was coming in we had 45, and one that weighted 8lb 4oz, most of these bass came on the Spinner Bait. Also we are still catching some good fish early on a Wacky Worm. The best color for me has been a June bug colored Trick Worm, fished weightless on the edge of the grass lines in 2 to 4 feet of water.
By 10am the bass have been coming up schooling. Best bait for me to catch these schooling bass has been a 1/4oz Chrome and Blue or Bleeding Shad Rattletrap. When they are up you can catch them on just about every cast. A lot of the bigger bass are suspended under the schools of Shad. I have been using a Smoking Shad Fluke on a 1/4oz Football Jig Head to catch these bigger Bass. The schooling activity has been off and on throughout the day, and when it slows down I have been

Fishing Report: Lake Fork Trophy Bass Report
June 23, 2007
By Guide James Caldemeyer
Things are really heating up here at the lake. With the weather getting hotter, you can expect for the bass fishing at Lake Fork to be HOT as well! Although the fishing this week has been good, these big bass are on the verge of busting loose into their heavy post spawn feeding ritual. Size has been good but the numbers of fish we're catching has varied. Some days you will only catch a 10-15 and others you can load the boat with these big mamas. Water temperatures have ranged anywhere from 80-87 degrees in the areas that I have been fishing. The water clarity is clear in most areas with some stained water in the backs of some of the creeks from recent run off. Lake levels are currently reading 402.67 with 403 being full pool. The topwater bite has been excellent on yellow magics, buzzbaits and frogs early. And when I say early I mean you better be on the water before the sun starts to come up. Sometimes the bite only last 20-30 minutes then it's done unless there is cloud cover present. After the topwater bite ceases, I have been heading straight for deep water but you can still catch some shallow fish with wacky worms, flukes and texas rigged worms later in the morning. Best mid-depths are 6-10 foot deep around the grass and timber. Points adjacent to deep water have seemed to hold the most fish and you will also find them in the creeks where the channels bend.

Fishing Report: The bitter cold winter months on Texoma have proven once again to produce big fish. The fish are still running deep and haven't yet come shallow for some real good action, but artificials such as sassy shad and casting slabs are hooking big fish. Live bait is catching good 13-18 inch box fish but the real 7-13 pound fish are being caught on sassy's. Late evening birds are a almost sure sign there is a big fish lurking somewhere close. Even though the birds will not usally stay long after you get under them keep your patience and stick with it. The fish run 40-80 ft. deep right now so the birds can't quite see all the activity down deep. For your professional fishing trip call 903-819-5755 for bookings and more information.

Fishing Report: Bass fishing is great right now. With the cooler water temps the bass are just now beginning their fall feeding frenzy and can be caught on a variety of lures from topwaters to Texas rigged worms. The bass bite has gotten better over the last week and will only get better over the next days and weeks to come. Find the roaming shad along the vegetation and the bass will be nearby. My largest this past week went 8.33 using a Shad colored V&M Pork Shad. Clients caught 7 bass this past week over 6lb. up to 8lb along with many other quality sized bass. Water temps have been ranging from 56 early in the day to 61 later in the day. The lake levels are stabile and 1.5 to 2 ft. low. The white and yellow bass can be caught in the Big Cypress River channel using small spoons and tail spinners hopped off the bottom. Crappie fishing is great using shiners and jigs. Most are being caught inside the pads lining the Big Cypress in 4-7 ft. of water.

Most of our bass have been coming from 3-4 ft. of water with quite a bit of schooling from the larger bass. A watermelon or shad colored V&M Porkshad has worked best for me with a chart./white spinnerbait following as a 2nd choice. Water temps have been ranging from 59 early in the day to 64 later in the day. The lake levels are stabile and 1.5 to 2 ft. low.

Fishing Report: Water temps have been ranging from 60 early in the day to 64 later in the day. The lake is 2 ft. low, but stable. The bass are beginning to get more aggressive as the water cools and they will only get better with time. Most of the bass have come out of the grass and pad mix using a V&M Pork Shad(super fluke) in colors of watermelon/red and junebug fishing them over and through the hydrilla and pads on the creek and slough edges. Texas rigged watermelon candy/chartreuse tail High Tails(brushhog) pitched along the edges of the creeks and on the cypress trees are working well. We have really caught some nice sized bass this past week, including several 5-7 lb. bass.

Fishing Report: Lake Fork Fishing Report
Posted September 5, 2006
by Guide James Caldemeyer
Well folks! This is the month that has been
greatly anticipated by many. September is here and
with it brings the cooler temperatures, big
tournaments and some great fishing!
We have had a few good showers at the lake lately
but not enough to bring the it up any. Water levels
are still low about 4 1/2 ft and water clarity is
clear in the main lake over to the east arm but the
west arm has been slightly stained in certain areas.
Temps are ranging from 83-88 degrees and you can
expect them to drop as the month progresses.
The front that just passed through brought with it
the north winds (east today) this week but it hasn\'t
seemed to bother the bite. I was out with Chris and
Sandy from Michigan today. Chris is a small-mouth
guide and an excellent fisherman. He got his first
taste of Lake Fork largemouth when he caught one about
7lbs bright and early. The rest of the trip we caught
numbers of schooling fish and had a great time---The
fish are still in relatively the same areas. They have
just repositioned themselves to focus on the schools
of shad. There are a lot of fish already chasing bait
fish right now and the schooling activity will
increase as the water
