Fishing Report: Recently, three buddies and I took an afternoon off from golf to wet a line. It was a beautiful sunny day and the winds were practically non-existant.
As we broke the inlet in Myrtle Beach we began the banter and teasing that accompanies almost every fishing trip. We agreed on a five dollar bet for first, biggest and most. We eased our way into fifty feet of water and let the lines down. The bait was cut up mackeral and they never reached the bottom. Each of us had two on at the same time.
Sea Bass were everywhere. Most of the fish were 11 inches and we caught some 16 inches and one bad boy caught by Lou weighed in at about 3 1/2 lbs. We caught about 100 fish in about two hours. No sharks or other species were caught and upon returning to the dock we cleaned enough fish so that each of us went home with about 10 lbs. of fillet.
Tomorrow we head out of our home port which is Hilton Head Island. We're breaking in our buddy\'s new boat, a 28 ft twin O/B Wellcraft. Probably head for the Tyree wreck and hope the action is non stop.
Check back with Ya'll tomorrow. |
