Fishing Report: The Marlin Action is in Quepos Costa Rica
Quepos Costa Rica (November 12, 2006) — The story out of Quepos Costa Rica continues to be incredible Marlin fishing. During the previous week, 35 Marlin were recorded caught and realeased, by boats sailing out of Quepos Port. Ramen Fisher, of Hook & Hooker Costa Rica Fishing Charters, is pleased with the numbers and added “I’m also really happy with the number of boats going out daily. It seems that fishermen have gotten the word that Marlin Season has started early.”
Across the board fish numbers were either even, or ahead, of last week’s numbers. Tuna saw a big jump - with 24 being caught. Fishermen bagged 29 Dorado and 20 Sailfish. A few boats even landed Barracuda.
November, is traditionally the month that Marlin start moving into the Quepos fishing grounds, although it appears that October marked the beggining of this years Marlin fishing season. Sailfishing, which doesn’t begin in earnest until late December, appears to be following the normal pattern.
