Fishing Report: Fishing In the Chesapeake Bay
Chesapeake Bay Charter Boat Captain Jim Brincefield
We are still leasing our good friend Capt. Dave Wooldridge’s head boat - the “Old Bay” to run our fishing parties until the “Jil Carrie” is repaired from “The Incident”. Boat Carpenter Bunny
Joyce tells us that she should be back and “better than new” by 8/1/05.
It was a sizzlin’ hot day with oppressive heat and humidity, and absolutely no wind. So, needless to say we were all “sweatin’ like San Francisco pet store gerbils”… and that’s really sweatin’, I tell ya. Today, we had a 6 hour, half day fishing trip for the
staff at PAETEC Communications from 0900 -1500 for a total of 10 anglers. One angler was doin’ the “sleepy-doo” when we took the group shot and is not pictured. Zach Stauffer served as 1st Mate today.
We sailed on down to “The Gooses” to try some light spinning tackle chumming for Striped Bass (“Rockfish”). We used standard chumming rigs and cut Bunker for hook bait. It was a decent bite as we caught our limit of 20 portly Rockfish ranging
from 18” - 22” plus our boat fish at this location. We also released a few undersized Rockfish. What great sport on a light tackle!!!
