Fishing Report: Port Sulphur Report,
This morning David and I left out of Port Sulphur and headed to our usual spot and had a repeat of last week’s action with trout herding up shrimp while dive-bombing birds feasted upon them with trout on the chase. Tide was high and the weather was overcast. We through back our usual undersized fish but did catch some very nice trout in between. David landed a 35 lb. bull redfish near one of the abandoned Sulphur installations and it gave him a good fight for about 15 minutes or so. We kept 35 speckled trout and were back at the launch before noon. I finally ventured to the Gulf area and found a good entrance point but by the time we got there the fishing action had slowed. Water was very pretty today with hardly any breeze. Best baits were the 3-inch Berkley Gulps and artificial clear shrimp lures fished under various corks. Tandem clear sparkle beetles and Bayou Chub minnows also seen good action fished tight line.
Good fishin’,
