Fishing Report: We are still leasing our good friend Capt. Dave Wooldridge’s
head boat - the “Old Bay” to run our fishing parties until the “Jil
Carrie” is repaired from “The Incident”. Boat Carpenter Bunny
Joyce tells us that she should be back and “better than new” by
8/15/05.
It was another sizzlin’ hot day with oppressive heat and
humidity, and absolutely no wind. Today, we had an afternoon
fishing trip scheduled. The Party was for two world famous
NCAA College Lacrosse 4 time All Americans – our good friends
Tom “It Was Only 3” Sears of Severna Park, Maryland and
Peter “Pedro” Voelkel of St. Michaels, Maryland, their families,
kids, and friends for a total of 15 anglers. Zach Stauffer
served as 1st Mate today.
We sailed on down to “The Gooses” to try some light spinning
tackle chumming for Striped Bass (“Rockfish”). We used
standard chumming rigs and cut Bunker for hook bait. It was a
fair bite, but “size was lacking” as we caught 24 portly Rockfish
keeper ranging from 18” – 22.5” at this location. We also
released a ton of undersized Rockfish. What great sport on a
light tackle!!! When will these fish grow up? Every year they
seem to be 17”???
