Fishing Report: FISHING IN MASSACHUSETTS: Pete Santini at Fishing FINatics in Everett reports that there were loads of schoolie tuna to 85 pounds. yesterday from the B Buoy to the BF Buoy off Boston Harbor. "High Speed Squid Bars and bird and feather rigs were working on the tuna. Stripers all over Boston Harbor had been smacking the Santini Tube-n-Worm rigs with the black color producing most of the action. Also there was a lot of topwater action on both blues and stripers off Logan Airport. It sure looks like the fall feeding spree has started!"
"It shouldn't be too long before we start to see the flounder return to the Boston North Channel and the flats near the Number 4 and 6 Buoys and mackerel will also be back in our area in a couple of weeks. Cod will also start to move back into the coastal waters as soon as the water temperatures drop a bit."
At Surfland Bait and Tackle at Plum Island, Kay Moulton reports that there were some huge stripers brought in last week, fish to forty pounds! "Surprisingly, most of the big stripers, including some up to 40 pounds were being caught on topwater lures. We had one over 40 pounds caught right here in the Merrimack at the end of the outgoing tide that had taken a Super Spook. Three other big stripers that had been caught off Gloucester had been caught on NeedleFish poppers. Shore fishermen also did well with stripers in the 15 to 22 pound range at Plum Island."
