Fishing Report: The water temps have dropped 18 degrees in the past 9 days. This morning I was seeing 69.1 at daylight, and 72 degrees at 11:00 am which is much better than the 86 to 88 degree water a week ago. These lower temps will get the river fish biting and the shad finally moving. I had the pleasure of fishing with young Kade, his Mom Deb, and their friend Bob this morning. The fish were trying to bite but still seem to want to bang the shiners around more then eat them. This was Kades first bass fishing trip and he took advantage of every bite catching 3 nice bass between 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 pounds. If we can keep some stable weather around and not get crazy hot again, we will see a big change in the fishing the next couple weeks. Free lining wild shiners on main river shellbeds was the ticket for us today. The St Johns River and Lake Monroe are only minutes from Orlando, Disney World and Daytona Beach.
