Virginia Beach Striper Fishing Report
Finally the Boss let me off for one day from tying Lures, to go and field test some lure ideas that had been presented to us by one of our top Charter Captains. The one nice thing about being in the lure business is field testing. We have to do it, as we want to make sure our products do what we say they do. Plus I get to fish!
We left Rudee Inlet in AM and headed south 10 to 15. Beautiful day on the water as the weather gods gave us a break finally. All fish were caught trolling, and all on terminator lures. Found lots and lots of bait and began to fish and within 10 minutes we started catching stripers. This stayed consistent right along throughout the day. All fish seem to be between 35" and 43". All fish were nice and fat. All our fish were caught throughout the water column. Bait was not an issue, as there is plenty of it.
As far as Lures, our Terminator Rojo's did very well, and I was very happy with the field test lures that we tested. Theres nothing like building something from scratch and seeing it catch fish. They caught fish all day. The only thing I could suggest is to scale back on the shads to 6". As the bait we were in seems to be peanut bunkers. Wish everybody plenty of luck, and hopefully the weather gods will be good to us this weekend, as we might try it again Sat
