Fishing Report: Late September into October marks the beginning of great red fishing in NW Fl as the water temp begins to drop. Not only Redfish, but Flounder, Trout and Bluefish also become more active inshore. We have seen an increase in the number of Black Drum and Sheephead around docks and bottom structures over the last few weeks marking what should be an awesome November. Many of the fish are still being caught in deep water even though the temps have dropped to 83 from 88 just 4 weeks ago in the bay. Deep-water docks and bridges with swift moving tides create the best scenario for live bait action in the Destin area.
Off the beaches the kings and Spanish remain abundant with Amberjack holding on the wrecks along with some large Grey Snapper and Founder to complete the bag.
