What could be more wonderful for a holiday than indulging in your favourite past time in some of the most beautiful waters in the world? It's difficult to know here to start but if we look up the east coast we'll see every type of fish available from the tropics of the Florida Keys through to the ice fishing in northern Quebec. This is a big market and any type of holiday that you want to indulge in can be arranged but here are just a few ideas: Florida Keys. Sometimes known as the 'Fishing Capital of the World' the Florida Keys enjoys the warm waters from the gulf stream and is great for scuba diving and snorkelling as well as fishing in the coral reefs that range from five to ninety feet in depth. There are many charter fishing boats of all shapes and sizes available for the anglers who come from all over the world to sample the excellent fishing. Many fishing boat charters feature world class fishing tackle, fighting chairs and outriggers in addition to the home comforts of air conditioning, entertainment centers and state of the art galleys.

Heading north, you'll arrive at North Carolina. Here you'll find game fish and delicious sea food aplenty. If you want variety, this is the place to come. You'll be able to indulge in surf casting, trolling diving and spear fishing or deep sea fishing in the Gulf Stream. Book your fishing charter boat and simply enjoy!

Going north again you'll come to the wonderful salmon fishing of the southern Quebec area, where the wonderful rivers are clean and gushing with salmon. Here the people consider fishing to be a way of life and they are willing to show you how to become a master catcher of the world's most intelligent and beautiful salmon. They will teach you patience and understanding in addition to respect for the creatures and they encourage you, when the fight is over and the fish has accepted defeat, to respect its playing of the game and place it back in the water. If you also want to experience some lake fishing you can visit some of the thousands of lakes that lie amidst the breathtaking scenery. Again, any combination of fishing and accommodation can be arranged to cater for your every requirement.

Heading still further north, you'll find the ancient art of ice fishing which is the way of life of the indigenous peoples of northern Quebec. Each year, around Christmas, when the ice becomes thick enough on the lakes and rivers, the village people drag hundreds of small, colourful shacks onto the ice. Some villages have up to seventeen hundred of these and it is a small tourist industry that is helping the local people considerably. The shacks are of differing standards and can, at the top end, be warm and highly comfortable. The season only lasts from Christmas through to February and they will give you the chance to be at one with nature; to experience a solitude and a stillness that are rare in this mad world of speed and efficiency. You're likely to catch a mixture of walleye, yellow perch and pike; redfish, cod and turbot and rainbow and speckled trout depending on the exact location you visit.
